Mary Anna Teamer, was born March 5, 1931 in Tipton County Tennessee to the late Mr. James and Agnes Teamer. She comes from a large Christian family of 13 children, herself included along with James Lee Teamer, Lewis A. Teamer, Willie Floyd Teamer, Morris Teamer, Beatrice Spencer, Lue Girt Taylor, Lee Anna Muex of Gary, Indiana, Velma Avery of Flint, Michigan, Mabel L. Tipton, Vera Lee Sanders of Covington, Tennessee who have preceded her in death.
Mary Anna is survived now by 2 sisters, Mildred Walker of Melville, Indiana and Cora B. Thomas of Los Angeles, CA.
Mary Anna gave birth to 8 children in total. Three from a previous relationship which are 2 sons, Amos and Jerry and a daughter, Ray. She married the dearly departed Clarence Hubert Taylor and had 5 children, Victor, Vincent and Leslie. Duane and Jacqueline have departed.
She leaves to mourn 2 daughters, Ray Dowell of Indianapolis and Leslie Taylor of New York, NY; 4 sons Jerry Dowell of Indianapolis, Amos Taylor of Tennessee, Victor Taylor of Brooklyn, NY and Vincent Taylor of Pennsylvania, along with 3 daughter-in-laws, 6 granddaughters, 6 grandsons, and many great grandchildren.
She was an active member of the Eastern Stars of New York State and has done great amounts of charity work along with donating to St. Judes Children Research Hospital since 2007.
She did volunteer work in the DOE which offered her position as teacher aide in the 70’s and in the 80’s. She volunteered at the Daughter of Jacob Geriatric Center, Bronx, NY and was soon employed there until retirement.
She was a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Harlem since 2007. Active in the Edward I Satchel Ministry until illness set in.
She leaves to mourn so many nieces and nephews across the country and also leaves a host of friends and acquaintances.
Mary Anna was beautiful, intelligent, elegant, energetic, everything, sassy, stylish, classy, creative, and a seamstress.
Mary Anna was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and most of all, a great cook. She’s all together lovely, unmatched, and will be truly missed.
