Mary T. Close, 57, of Ridgefield, died peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, October 7, 2022. She was the loving wife of Kenneth A. Close and beloved mother of Andrew and Emily Close.
Mary was born on October 12, 1964 in Stamford, CT; the daughter of Daniel and Catherine (Celotto) Burke. She attended St. Cecelia’s School, St. Gabriel’s School and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy.
As a resident of Ridgefield for the past 28 years, Mary was an animal lover and enjoyed time spent caring for her pets as well as wild animals found in her backyard. Mary was known for her infectious smile and laugh as well as her ability to light up a room. She had a kind soul and loved all living beings. Mary was beloved by her immediate and extended family members as well as friends and colleagues.
Mary is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ken, as well as her two children; Andy and Emily. In addition, Mary is survived by her siblings: Danny Burke and his wife, Kathy; Cathy Burke; Tim Burke and his wife, Barbara and Chris Burke and his wife, Lynn as well as many nieces and nephews.
