Mary Susan (Susie) Lee

October 12, 1949 – November 1, 2012

Susie was born in Los Angeles, California on October 12, 1949 to Maggie and Milt Albright, the third of six daughters.  With the opening of Disneyland, where Milt worked, the Albright family moved to Orange in 1955.

Susie graduated from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana in 1967.  Following in the Albright tradition, she also worked at Disneyland for a time, and met her future husband at a coffee shop in Orange where they both worked.

She married William Lee in 1970, after he was commissioned a US Army Officer.  They were assigned to live on the Presidio in San Francisco very near the Golden Gate Bridge entrance.  She then accompanied him on his overseas tour to South Korea where they lived for a time in a Quonset hut and in a “hootch” in the village.  They have resided in North Santa Ana since 1975.

Susie was a self-educated woman.  She worked thirty-three years for So Cal Gas, San Diego Gas & Electric and Sempra Energy; starting as a file clerk, and working her way up to management.  She was ultimately in charge of a 25-member team of technical specialists in many diverse areas of IT expertise.  She retired as Infrastructure Technology  Manager in November 2006, after which she devoted much of her time to the care of her mother, Maggie Albright, until her death in 2011.

Susie passed peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, November 1, 2012, surrounded by family.  She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Lee; father, Milt Albright; five sisters, Kathy Epperley (Cecil), Cris Robinson (Jim), Patricia Albright, Peggy Devitt (Dale), and Lori Koontz (Bob); sister-in-law, Rebecca Collins (John) and brother-in-law, John Lee (Stacey); twenty nieces and nephews, Angie, Jeff, Craig, Tim, Maggie, Ellie, Sara, Gina, Laura, Jordan, Grace, Natalie, Andrew, Willy, Chris, Davis, Alex, John, Shannon and Katie.  She is predeceased by her beautiful nephew, Trevor.   Susie is also survived by her fifteen great nieces and nephews, Heidi, Otto, Frances, Violet, Buck, Trudy, Johnny, MacKenzie, Kerrigan, Ramsey, Casey, Abby, Natalie, Gabriel and Alina; and one great great nephew, Johnny.

Susie would light up any room with her wonderful smile and her quick wit.  She will always have a special place in all our hearts and has left a wonderful, loving legacy.
