Passed away on May 21, 2016. Mrs. Fox was born March 23, 1920 in Patricksburg, Indiana. She was reared in Bloomington, Indiana and had been a resident of Kalamazoo since 1961. Mrs. Fox was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Tri Kappa and Delta Gamma Sororities, Indiana University Alumni Club of Southwest Michigan and a volunteer for the Service Division of Bronson Methodist Hospital.
She was educated at Indiana University, Kalamazoo Valley Community College and was also degreed from Western Michigan University. She had worked in the retail business and had done extensive volunteer work in the fields of educational and cultural activities. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid golfer. On December 19, 1942 she was married to J. Warren Fox who preceded her in death on February 27, 2009.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Susan Ermatinger and her husband, Peter, and 3 grandchildren: Rita Marie, Elyse Ann, and Brian Lee (Adrienne), and a great granddaughter, Abigail Grace Whitford; a nephew, Dr. William J. Schmalz of Bloomington, Indiana; a god-daughter, Kimberly Ann (Schmalz) Ochsenschlager of Hinsdale, Illinois; and several nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy H. Schmalz in 1968 and mother, Cecile Marie (Myers) in 1983; and her brothers James L. Schmalz in 1991 and Richard H. Schmalz in 2014.
