Mary Sue “Sue” Hanna was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on April 22, 1940 to Dr. Harold and Helen Rutledge and died on October 19, 2014 after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Sue and her family moved to New Orleans when she was three. This is where she grew up, went to college, and began her own family.
Sue and her family moved to Colorado in 1975, first to Colorado Springs and ultimately to Littleton. She worked for many years in the hospitality industry as a marketing director before forming her own travel agency, which she grew into a successful two-office operation before selling the business in 2004. Sue was a happy, sociable person with a great sense of humor and the uncanny ability to turn complete strangers into friends almost instantly. She loved home decorating and gardening and couldn’t live more than a few days without having at least one dog to love.
Sue is survived by her husband, Doug Hanna; her two daughters, Tamra (Bill) Hughes and Stacia McNeely; three stepchildren, Geoffrey Hanna, Katherine Hanna and Joseph Hanna; four grandchildren, Brooks Kanski, Kaley Kanski, Sam Hughes and Isabella Schmidt and six step grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Kay (Todd) Lusk; niece, Kriste Parent and nephew, Micheal Lusk. Sue was deeply loved, and her kindness and warmth will live on in the hearts of all that knew her.
