Mary Ann Seibert was born on September 22, 1949, to James and Mary Kennedy (Lewis) in Detroit, Michigan. As a child, she also lived in Santa Ana, California, and Las Cruces, New Mexico before moving to Nashville, Tennessee where she attended high school and earned a beautician license. Her sense of style and fashion became one of her lifelong trademarks.
Later, she managed a pet store in the Nashville area. Mary Ann always demonstrated love and understanding for animals, “mothering” and nurturing dogs, cats, lovebirds, cockatiels, horses, hens, and even a great blue heron.
After moving to Decatur, Alabama, Mary Ann achieved sales recognition in both banking and real estate, winning the Morgan County Association of Realtors Rookie of the Year Awards. She would spend many years as a successful residential and commercial Realtor.
In 2018, Mary Ann and her husband Rick relocated to the Emerald Coast where they made Niceville, Florida their home. Mary Ann soaked in the warmth and natural beauty of the area; she could never spend enough time at the beach. And, of course, her own warmth drew in friends almost immediately. She was truly loved, respected, and admired by numerous people.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband Richard (Rick) D. Seibert, Jr. of Niceville, and her daughters Cheryl Betty (husband Eric) of Hermitage, TN, and Melissa Paris (husband Willie) of Mt. Juliet, TN. She also leaves behind a granddaughter Deana Spruill and great-grandson Maddox, both of Mt. Juliet, TN as well as a sister Sara Valentine of Paris, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Kevin Harbin.
