Mary P. Salaiz, 87, a lifetime Deming resident passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.
Mary was born in Deming on January 2, 1927, to Florentino and Josefina (Carbajal) Pacheco. She attended Deming Public Schools and married Gilbert Salaiz in 1947 in Deming. Mary loved to garden, sew, cook with family, and shop with family and friends. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son, Ernest (Gloria) Salaiz of Las Cruces; grandchildren Evelyn Salaiz of Albuquerque, Ruben (Revae King) Salaiz of Las Cruces; great-grandchildren, Abraham and Mathias Salaiz of Las Cruces; daughter, Iris (Marcus) Ranjel of Las Cruces; granddaughters, Lysandra (Hector)Garcia, Ciliana Salaiz, Jacinda Ranjel, and Marcayla Ranjel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and numerous brothers and sisters.
