She was born January 13, 1926 in Scott County, VA to the late James Elbert Thompson & Ruth Johnson Thompson. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Gott and her five siblings. Survivors include children, Kathy (Jim) Robinson, Randy (Debbie) Gott; grandchildren, Andrew (Cassie) Robinson, Emily (Kevin) Kusak, Elizabeth (J.P.) Homik, Stewart Gott; great-grandchildren, Lillie Beth Kusak, Josephine Homik, Sam Kusak, Lulu Homik, Rand Homik; numerous nieces and nephews.
