Mary R. Decker, 97, of Elkhart, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born March 25, 1915, in Elkhart to Robert and Rachel (Osterhouse) Harper. She married O. Carlyle Decker on June 13, 1938, in Elkhart. He died in 1983.
Surviving is a son, Robert O. Decker of Elkhart; a sister, Phyllis Harper of San Diego; and a niece, Julie Nixon of San Diego.
Mary worked as a secretary for 26 years for Elkhart Community School Corporation. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart and was a member IOOF Rebekah’s and past state president of the Rebekah Assembly of Indiana.
