Mary Rodriguez Provencio, 89, longtime resident of Hurley passed away Thursday afternoon, March 30, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 4, 1928 in Swartz in the Mimbres Valley to Francisca Parra and Eusebio Rodriguez. On November. 5, 1947 she married Manuel Provencio in Lordsburg and raised their children in Grant County. She was retired from Kennecott Copper Corporation where she was a sampler for the company. Mary was a devout Catholic and member of the Shrine of Infant Jesus in Hurley.
Survivors include her children: Velma Provencio, Carlos Provencio, and Elizabeth Provencio; grandchildren: Richard Provencio Jr. and wife Karla, Rose Marie Lopez, Elizabeth Marie Provencio Fischer and husband Trey Fischer, Juan Carlos Provencio and wife Danielle, Miguel Provencio and wife Sarah Tang, and Daniel Provencio and wife Desiree.
Great-grandchildren: Alyssa Provencio, Kalisra Hernandez, Adriana Marie Gamboa, Diego Lopez, Francesca Marie Fischer, Camilla Marie Fischer, Joshua Provencio, Julius Provencio and Denae Provencio; great–great- grandchild, Kailey Marie Ferralez. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Manuel in 2004, son, Richard in 2015, 2 brothers, Mariano and Jimmy Rodriguez and 3 sisters, Tomasa Alcorta, Felipa Quaron and Josefa Garcia.
Pallbearers will be Victor Holguin, Richard Provencio Jr., Juan Carlos Provencio, Miguel Angel Provencio, Daniel Martin Provencio, Diego Andres Lopez, Jim Rodriguez Jr. and Trey Martinez Fischer.
