Mary E. Pickard, age 89, passed away at her home in Boerne on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008. Born in Tulsa, OK, on April 25, 1919, she was the daughter of Charles Ehret and Nelle Patton Ehret. A resident of Boerne for over 25 years, Mary had been a member of the Boerne Book Club, Boerne Women”s Club, and very active in the Republican Club and Republican Women”s Club. She was very proud to have been a volunteer with the American Red Cross for 40 years. Preceded in death by her parents, Mrs. Pickard is survived by her husband, Col. Dee Pickard, US Army, Ret.; Daughter, Carolyn J. Pickard; Son, Lt. Col. Andrew Pickard, II U.S. Army Ret. and his wife, Frances; Granddaughter, Lindsey Pickard.
