Mary Petra Carver, 63, of Galesburg, died at 6:49 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at home.
Mary was born June 10, 1954 in Ottawa, the daughter of Matheas and Mary C. (Gonzalez) Zalazar. She married Steven Teel. Together they had 5 children, Claudia Fox of Galesburg, Dakota (Nathan Gibbs) Teel of Knoxville, Cheyenne Teel, Cody Teel, and Dylan (Kara Decker) Teel, all of Galesburg. Steven preceded her in death in 1996. She then married Kevin Beach and they had one daughter, Lakota Beach of Galesburg. She later married Billy Carver. Along with her children, Mary is survived by her mother, Mary “Rosita” Zalazar of Galesburg and 6 grandchildren, Alaska, Ontario, Capre, Montreal, Jersey, and Brooklyn.
Mary enjoyed being a mother to her 6 children and a grandma to her 6 grandchildren. They were the light of her world. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She also loved music, especially the Rolling Stones.
Mary was a true hippie in every sense of the word. She ended her conversations with her kids and grand kids by reminding them to sleep with angels.
