Mary E. Peirce, the daughter of Antonette (Havel) and Glenn Robertson, was born December 1, 1922 at Red Cloud, Nebraska. She departed this life on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud, Nebraska at 94 years of age.

​A lifelong resident of the Red Cloud community, Mary graduated from the Red Cloud High School with the class of 1941. She was united in marriage with Norman Alvah Peirce on April 11, 1947 at Falls City, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two sons, David and Gerry. Mary worked at the Webster County Courthouse in the 1940’s for County Judge Caldwell and for the County Attorney. She then did the books for her husband’s grocery store, the Trading Post, from September 1946 until May of 1974.

​Mary was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church for 83 years and a member of the VFW Auxiliary for 68 years. She also supported the Mah-Piya-Luta Indian Dancers, started by Norm in 1962, through 1974, sacrificing her time so that the boys and girls could learn the ways of the American Indian, including dancing and performing in thirteen states throughout the country.
​Preceding her in death were her parents; step-father, Roebert Hermann, and a great grandson.

​Left to treasure her memory are her sons, David and wife, Belinda, of Platte Center, Nebraska; Gerry of Texarkana, Texas; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; many nephews, nieces and friends.
