Mary Patricia McCauley, 35, of Toms River, NJ passed away Friday, March 14, 2014. She was a lifelong resident of Toms River and spent a year living in Ireland while attending graduate school. She was a 1997 graduate of Toms River High School North and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ. She received her Master’s Degree from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, in 2007.
Mary spent several years as a Psychology Instructor at St. Peters University in Jersey City. She then became a counselor for Seashore Family Counseling in Toms River and was currently a Psychology Instructor at Kean University in Union, NJ. She was a member of the American Psychological Association. Mary was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Toms River. Mary had a passion for helping and teaching others and loved spending time with her family, especially her nephew, James. She had many hobbies, including photography, music and creating stained glass.
She also loved animals, the Jersey shore, all things Irish and attending rock concerts with her brother. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Joseph & Mary Tonero and her paternal grandparents Wilbur & Gertrude McCauley. Mary is survived by her parents Mary Anne and James McCauley, MD of Toms River, her 2 brothers Mark McCauley of Bound Brook and Brian McCauley of Toms River, her sister Kathleen Simione and her husband Michael of Toms River, her nephew James and niece Julianna. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles and many cousins.
