Mary Papadoyianis (91) of Boca Raton, FL passed away peacefully on December 1, 2019. She is survived by her only son, Ernest Papadoyianis, and will be lovingly remembered by her two grandchildren, Bryan and Karina Papadoyianis, who she loved with all her heart and soul.
Born in Schenectady, NY on April 29, 1928, Mary was one of five children and grew up in an Italian American neighborhood on Manhattan Street called “Goose Hill”. She often commented about how the closeness of the family neighborhood shaped her life. She graduated from Nott Terrace High school in Schenectady where she later met her husband, Constantine Papadoyianis.
Mary spent most of her life in Swampscott, MA where she was a residential real estate broker and had her own agency, Oceanview Realty. As a broker for over 40 years, and a devote hockey mom, Mary was well known and loved in Swampscott. She was always active in sports and loved to bowl and figure skate regularly throughout her life. She was a diehard Boston sports fan and loved to watch the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox. She was known by family and friends as an amazing cook, and always hosted holiday meals with elaborate food and desserts. She had a special love for her coffee, especially in the afternoon with family or friends at Dunkin Donuts. Always black and needed to be hot and fresh. She passed her love of coffee onto her son and granddaughter.
Mary was an incredibly strong and independent woman, and an amazing mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved unconditionally and always gave to her family before herself.
Mary moved to Boca Raton, FL in 2013 to be near her son and grandchildren. She always longed to return to Swampscott which was and always will be her home. Her love, guidance, and passion for life will be greatly missed.
