Mary Dockery, 69, of Toms River, NJ passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at home. Born in Denver, Colorado, she lived in Newark, NJ and Irvington, NJ before moving to Toms River in 1968. Mary attended St. Peter’s Grammar School on Belmont Ave and Blessed Sacrament Grade School in Newark, NJ and graduated from St. Michael High School in Newark, NJ.
She also was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament Secretarial School. Mrs. Dockery was a Medical Technician for various Doctor Offices in Irvington and Toms River. She was also owner of Mary’s Irish Corner in Toms River for 6 years. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and taught CCD. Mary was currently President of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Ocean 1, served as President of the Ocean County Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind and was a member of the Lay Missionaries of Charity, Asbury Park and Newark.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years Thomas Dockery; a son Thomas Dockery, Jr. of Texas; a daughter Mary Kate Dockery of Toms River; a sister Judith Virzi of Big Bear, CA; grandchildren Kaitlyn Shive and Kacie Dockery.
