Mary Nez Tsosie, 90, will be on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Linda Vista Building, 2401 E. Linda Vista DR., Flagstaff, AZ.

Mary was born on February 22, 1920 at Lower Basin in the Gray Mountain area. She was of the Todochiinii/Adootsosnii, born for Hashkaan, her chei was Ashiihi and nali was Tachiinii.

Mary at 90, lived to the fullest, first and always as a loving and caring mother to all she came in contact with. She enjoyed rug weaving, sewing, traveling, and solving puzzles such as the Rubix Cube.

Her passion was the love of livestock, being a rancher, raising sheep, cattle, and horses. She was an excellent horseback rider, tames her own horses, and won several times in the horse racing event during the Flagstaff Indian Pow-Wow celebration. Her other passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, molding them to be good people by giving advice.

Mary had 11 children. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Eugene and Helen Gordy; husband Max Nez Tsosie, brother Lawrence Gordy, half brothers Alvin and Orville Gordy; children Rena, Eddie, Roland, Marilyn; grandchildren Edwin, Armando and Charity.

She leaves behind Seven children Herman, Wilfred, Irene Bowman, Helena, Linda, Stanly; half sisters Lois Yazzie, Elvina Yellow; 40 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
