Mary Nelle Rogers, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 6, 2018 . She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years J. Richard “Dick” Rogers, her parents, Francis W. and Nellie Ward Graves, her son, Richard Thomas Rogers, her sister, Elsie Graves Dugger and her brother, William Wilder Graves.
She is survived by her son, Stephen and his wife, Tina McKee Rogers, Fairfax, Virginia and her daughter, Gail and her husband, Terry Johnson of Brentwood, Tennessee, her granddaughter, Natalie Rogers Martin (Dustin) and grandson, Scott Rogers (Stacey), and four great grandchildren, Case Martin, Alden Martin, Brett Rogers and Molly Rogers, and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Mrs. Rogers was born on June 8, 1922 in Savannah, Georgia and after marriage moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she worked for Ford Motor Company and as Office Manager for various dentists for the next 35 years, and was very active with the East Point Garden Club, serving as President.
Special thanks to caregivers including Liz Battista, Gail Douglas, Arlene Hoilett, Rosalee McKenzie, Shela Pierre, Jane Simons, and Grace Smith who provided loving care to our mother throughout her last years.
