The moment comes to everyone when our time on earth must end and God and his angels call us home. That call came to Mary Nedrow on Friday, December 11, 2015.
Mary Margaret Forman was born on March 22, 1918, the only child of Charles G. Forman and Georgia Etta Martin Forman. She was a direct descendant of Elizabeth Albright Bauer and Daniel Bauer (Bower) who along with Elizabeth’s brother and sister-in-law, David and Susanna Albright, were original settlers of Albrightsville, WV, now named Albright, WV.
Mary was born in Albright at the home of her grandparents, Isaac and Matilda Forman. She returned to that home as a young wife and mother and lived there until she was 90 years old when she moved near her son in Roanoke, VA.
Mary was the widow of David S. Nedrow. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Lois and David Van Doren, David and Margaret Nedrow, and Geniene and Terry Zinn. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Nedra Blick, Julia Lam, Ronald Jones II, David Nedrow, Ellen Sullivan, Lisa Zinn, and Sara Serene, and nine great grandchildren, Jordan Lam Baker, Joshua Lam, Evan Courter, Jessica and Amanda Jones, McKenzie Blick, Ryne and Georgia Serene, and Wesley “Sully” Sullivan.
Mary was a homemaker and spent her life working hard for her family. She was the maker of beautiful jelly, wonderful breads and baked goods, and gorgeous quilts and needlework. In her later years, the highlight of her week was riding her little red sports car (her lawnmower) to mow her lawn.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck – Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street, on Saturday, December 19, 2015, from 11:00 a.m.
