Mary E. Higgins the daughter of Roy and Bertha Mosley was born October 18, 1939 at Ong, Nebraska.  She departed this life on December 10, 2016 at her home in Greeley, CO at the age of 77 years.

Mary graduated from Ong High School and earned her teaching degree in physical education and English from Kearney State College, Kearney, NE. Mary taught physical education and English at Grand Island High School, Grand Island, NE from 1961-65.

Mary was united in marriage to Rolland L. Higgins on Dec. 17, 1961, in Ong, Nebraska. Mary and Rollie moved to Greeley, CO in 1972. Mary started her own business of creating elaborate macramé called Lots of Knots by Mary.

In 1977, Mary and Rollie together purchased a hardware store. They owned and worked at Higgins Hardware for 37 years. Without a doubt, a family owned store where people were greeted with a smile, popcorn, coffee and Bailey (their yellow lab) for years.

Mary had a knack of knowing where every item in the store was located and could direct customers to what they needed from her chair at the counter.

Mary loved being crafty and creative. She wrote heartfelt poems, cards and was always thinking of others. She enjoyed the Holiday season, music and sunshine. The accomplishment she was most proud of was raising two wonderful children, Kris Ayers and Mike Higgins.

Survivors: husband, Rolland Higgins; daughter, Kris Ayers and Chris Schroeder; son, Mike Higgins; granddaughters Norka Camacho Perez and Rachel Higgins Camacho; and brother, Dale Mosley.

Proceeded in death by her parents, Roy and Bertha Mosley; sisters, Betty Beaver and Shirley Mosley.
