Mary (Methvin) Cox Harrell, age 80, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2007. Mrs. Harrell was born in Dawson, Georgia on February 24, 1927. She graduated from Bainbridge High School and attended Valdosta State University. Mrs.
Mrs. Harrell was preceded in death by her parents, J. P. and Bonnie Methvin, and her aunt, Vella Newton, of Bonifay, Florida. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Winton Frazier (“Tubby”) Cox, of Chipley, Florida.
Mrs. Harrell is survived by her husband, Jim Harrell, of Fort Walton Beach; her sister, Bonnie Proctor, of Chula Vista, California; and her children, Carol Cox Berk, of Miami, Florida, Terry Cox Emley, of Fairhope, Alabama, and Alan Frazier Cox, of Niceville, Florida. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Gregory Turner and his wife, Bobbie, for the many years of compassionate care and friendship they gave to Mrs. Harrell. A special thank you also goes to the staff of Westwood Healthcare Center and The Benton House.
