Mary Margaret Morgan, age 97, of Wilford St., Grafton, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Wallace B. Murphy Nursing Care Facility, after a long, happy, and healthful life. She was born on February 19, 1915 in Grafton, the daughter of the late William Henry Harrison Pitzer and Martha J. (Farance) Morgan. She graduated from the 8th grade in 1929 and immediately, went to work as a cook in the Crystal Restaurant, and as a live in caretaker for an elderly woman. She cooked in several restaurants in Grafton. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and sister. She was the mother of nine children, twenty two grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren, and twelve great great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and will be remembered by many in the community for her fine cooking at various restaurants over the years. Her quick wit and twinkling blue eyes will be greatly missed her family. Mary is survivied by five children: Charles Robert Morgan and wife JoAnn, Gary Clark Morgan, James Lawrence Morgan and wife Donna, Mary Morgan, all of Grafton, and LaDonna Morgan of Mineral Wells, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband Fred B. Morgan, to whom she was married for 30 years; four children, William B. Morgan, Edward Lee Morgan, Jacob “Dick” Morgan and Ronnie Morgan; two sisters, Katherine Wickham, and Laura Austin; two brothers, who died in infantcy. Mary was the last living member of her immediate family.
