Mary Margaret Gilligan Toth Balhatchet, beloved wife of Robert S. Balhatchet, passed peacefully on April 13, 2013 at United Hospital Center in her 89th year. She was born in Grafton to the late James Gilligan and Margaret Stull Gilligan. HER LEGACY – Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, Frank Charles Toth (Kay) of Grafton; daughters, Sharon (Bartlett) Iskra (Alan) of Morgantown, and Cathy and (Dale) John Shaffer of Fairmont; grandchildren, Tiffany Bartlett Ahlers (Dave) with children Noah and Caleb, Lori Shaffer Miller and children Haylee and Hayden, Kelly Shaffer Henderson (Tim) and son Jacob. Krista Toth, Cole Toth, and Kara Toth; stepchildren, Jane Bowlin, Beth Ager, and Stephanie Scott; step-grandchildren, Jessica Scott, Anna (Scott) Bitonti, Rosie (Scott) Wilson, Ashley Ager, Brett Ager, Jody Blake, Brian Blake, and Shane Balhatchet; 5 step-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her first husband, Frank Toth; brother, James Robert Gilligan; grandson, Eric Shawn Bartlett; and step-son, Robbie Balhatchet. HER LIFE – Mary was a graduate of Grafton High School. During her professional career she worked as a retail sales manager. For many years she was a soloist and choir member of First Baptist Church of Grafton, as well as Baptist Temple in Fairmont.
