Mary Marcarelli “Auntie Mimi” DeGennaro, 97, of 37 Wooster Place, New Haven, died peacefully at home on July 7, 2010. She was the widow of Valentino DeGennaro. Mrs. DeGennaro was born in New Haven Jan. 1, 1913, daughter of the late Edmondo and Maria DeMennato Marcarelli. She is survived by two sons, Richard (Marcia) DeGennaro of Bradenton, FL. and Donald (Natalie) DeGennaro of East Haven; a sister, Rose Cusano of Hamden; 3 grandchildren, Christopher & Donald DeGennaro of Branford and Marisa Pickford of Maine and a great grandson, Thomas Pickford. She was predeceased by five brothers, Ralph J., Thomas R., Julius E., Joseph “Pip” and Dionisio “Mac” Marcarelli and a sister, Amalia Marcarelli. She was the aunt of Dr. Ralph Marcarelli, with whom she resided.
