Mary Magdalene Hughes was a great Christian woman with unwavering faith in God. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Always full of love and inspiration for others. She was a true angel sent to guide us in this life. Mary was a Sunday school teacher at Lake Street Church of God, in Kalamazoo, for many years. She loved to share the Good News of her Savior Jesus Christ with others. Mary was married 64 years to the love of her life Douglas Hughes.
She was a home maker, a wonderful loving mother of two, James (Michelle) Hughes and Brenda Hambright; six grandchildren, Heather Hughes, Ashley Hughes, Tyler Hughes, Aaron Hughes, Josh Hambright and Nancy Hambright and four great-grandchildren, Ryan Longenecker, Grace Hughes, Allie Langford and Carter Douglas Hambright; four siblings, Dewey Duff, Martha Roberts, Arlene Mize and Enoch Duff; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and by 12 siblings.
She was always so happy to help take care of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary loved working outdoors in the yard, and reading and studying her Bible. She will be truly missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
