Mary M. Meilinger, 77, of Fountain Hill, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was the wife of the late William H. Davies, and the late Paul E. Meilinger. She was born in Allentown, on July 14, 1937 to the late John and Matilda (Brichta) Pavanello. She was a 1955 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 1959 graduate of Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. Together with her husband Paul, Mary owned and operated Meilinger’s Tobacco, Etc. She also worked for Historic Bethlehem Inc. as site manager in the Kemmerer Museum. She was a former member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Mary was very involved with music in the Lehigh Valley, as she was a former member of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem and Cantata Singers of Quakertown, and was a dedicated volunteer for the L.V. Chamber Orchestra. She was also one of the earliest board members, supporters and champions of Touchstone Theatre, and also a member of the Morning Star Rotary Club. Survivors: daughter Mary K. Whitmer and husband Steven of Charlotte Court House, VA; son William J. Davies, Sr. of Fountain Hill; grandchildren William J. Davies, Jr. and David Paul Davies; sister Antoinette Bachman of Russellville, AK. She was predeceased by her sister Regina Hermann.
