Mary (Mitchell) Cramer, of Fortville, passed away Thursday September 16, 2010 at the Indiana Masonic Home Medical Center in Franklin. She was born on July 4, 1927 in Senate, MO to the late William W. and Lucille (McMaster) Mitchell of Clay City.
She graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing in 1948. She retired from Hancock Regional Hospital in 1992 where she served for 29 years as a supervisor of the critical care unit, which she also helped found in 1969. Mary was a member of both the State VFW Ladies Auxiliary and #6904. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fortville American Legion Post 391; the Fortville Order of the Eastern Star #149; and Fortville Christian Church. She was active in the Red Cross and 40&8.
Mrs. Cramer is survived by son Nichael L. (Crystal Washburn) Cramer of Guilford, VT; daughters Mary Jane McGuire and Elizabeth Anne Cummins, both of Franklin; sister-in-law Camilla Cramer of Wilkinson; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard “Tink” Cramer; son Leonard Cramer, Jr.; and brother Robert W. Mitchell.
