Mary Lu Anaya, 93, passed away Jan. 20, 2022. She was born Aug. 22, 1928 in New Mexico to Francisco and Isabelle (Lopez) Leger who precede her in death along with her husband, Demetrio Anaya; 13 siblings, and grand-daughter, Tanya Trujillo. She was the matriarch of 5 generations. She enjoyed dancing, word search puzzles, and reading. She was a great cook, and never let you leave her home hungry. She was the family “Queen” and had the best personality. She was ornery with a great sense of humor; you couldn’t help but love her. Above all her family was her everything. Mary leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Dennis (Maryann) Anaya, Louis (Tina) Anaya, William (Barbara) Anaya, Linda (Tim Robbins) Fain, and Christina Baca; brother, Ernest Leger; sister-in-law, Josephine Leger; 18 grandchildren; 49 great- grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
