Mary Louise (Cunico) Parkins, 88, formerly of Ottawa, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 18, 2017.
Mary was born in Ottawa on January 20, 1929, to Fred and Lucille (Collins) Cunico. She married the love of her life, Ernest Parkins on August 3, 1951.
In her younger years, Mary worked as a telephone operator and later in life as a proof reader at the Daily Times. The majority of her adult life was spent as a mother and a homemaker.
Mary loved to sew, do counted cross-stitch pictures, read, and both round and square dance.Mary was survived by her daughter, Barbara (Milt) Wolber of Sterling, a grand-son, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 10, 2015, parents, her sister Dorothy Majcina, and her grand-daughter Melissa (Cross) Bretag. Her son, Michael J. Parkins died on March 7, 2019.
