Mary Louise Young Lowery, age 93, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, in Healthmark Regional Medical Center. She was born November 22, 1919, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Samuel and Josephine Young.
Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a long time resident of Ft Walton Beach moving there in 1943 when she married the love of her life Dorman.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dorman Edward Lowery; her mother-in-law, Sarah Lowery, whom she loved as a mother; son, John Edward Lowery; her two son-in-laws, Doug McLendon and Mark Connor; a great grandson, Gary McLendon; her three sisters, Thelma Cleveland, Mildred Briles, and Ruthie Spinks; and her dear friend Ann Mitchell.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Sue McManaway, husband Mack of Louisville, KY; Sarah McLendon of DeFuniak Springs, and Donna Connor of Pensacola; her grandchildren Cherie Hensel, Doug McManaway, David McLendon, Steven McLendon, Thomas McLendon, and Jessica Fell. Mary is also survived by her 9 great grandchildren and many other extended family members and friends.
