Mary Louise (Conner) Johns Cogill, 97, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 2, 2022.
Mary was born on July 13, 1924 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Emmett and Winnie (Wood) Conner.
Mary was employed as a cook at Northeast Elementary for 20 years and later worked as a teller at American Fletcher Bank in Southport, Indiana for 15 years.
Mary was a caring wife, a loving mother, and a wonderful grandmother. She was known for being “sharp as a tack” when it came to record keeping and would balance her checkbook to the penny. She enjoyed shopping for clothes at the mall with her friend Marilyn and loved vacationing and camping in Florida.
Mary is survived by her five children, Sondra Alford, Terry (Joe) Crone, both of Beech Grove, IN, Richard (Patricia) Johns, Steve (Linda) Johns, and David (Michele) Johns, all of Greenwood, IN; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren with three on the way.
Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Arthur Johns; her previous husband, John Cogill; her parents, Emmett and Winnie Conner; her brothers, Rex, Ralph, Roy, Ray, and Kenneth Conner; her sister, Glee Miller; her son-in-law, Ron Alford; her great-grandson, Kevin Starnes.
