Mary Lou McCraven Felker Fretwell, of Plain City, age 93, passed away on New Year’s Day 2022 in Ogden, Utah with her daughter and son in law by her side. She was born October 2, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa and was the cherished only daughter of Hobart Augustus McCraven and Helen Lenora Smalley McCraven.

She grew up in Denver Colorado and later moved to Ogden, Utah.

Mary Lou was blessed with four children: one son, Billy and three daughters, Kristy, Kim, and Michele, nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Mary Lou was always up for a road trip to her next big adventure. She loved being wherever the action was and loved the opportunity to meet and talk with everyone she met along the way.  Mary Lou loved music and dancing and would often get her great grandkids in on the action.  She was always the first one to give you your birthday gift, (even if it was a month early) she just couldn’t wait to see you happy and excited about it. She made the best mac and cheese for her grandkids even though she would never eat it, but she sure loved her chocolate and always had a little stash somewhere just in case.  She entertained us with her stories from her childhood and her poodle that could sit in a highchair and always kept us on our toes because she never wanted to be stuck in the same place for too long.

She is survived by her daughter Kristy (Don) Owens, her son William “Billy” (Cyndie) Felker, her stepson William Fretwell, her daughters Kimberly Ann Hardy, and Michelle Bialkowski. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her granddaughters Heather Owens, Jeanene Hieronymus, and grandson Dustin Owens.

Dance with the angels all our loved ones in heaven on the other side of the veil. Thank you for all your love, caring, and kindness. You are loved so very much.
