Mary Lou, the daughter of Charles and Pearl Ellen Kaloupek was born December 31, 1931 in Elberon, Iowa. The family moved to Toledo, Iowa in 1935 and she
attended Toledo schools, graduating from Toledo High School with the class of 1949.
During her high school years, she participated in band and cheerleading, and worked part time at the Rexall Drug Store in Toledo.
After graduation, Mary Lou worked for the Iowa Electric Light and Power Company in Toledo for several years. In 1963, she moved to Newton, Iowa where she was employed in the offices of The Maytag Company.
Mary Lou passed away March 4, 2019 at her home in Newton. She was 87. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Leland Kaloupek, Charles Kaloupek, Robert Kaloupek and Douglas Kaloupek, and one sister, Phyllis Willer.
Mary Lou is survived by her brother, Jack, and his wife, Mary Louise Kaloupek of Kerrville, TX, two sisters’ in law, Mary Faye Kaloupek, Toledo, Marrina Kaloupek, Grinnell and one brother-in-law, Charles Willer, of Marshalltown, many nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
