Mary went to be with the Lord and her family at 5:22 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, in her residence.
Born Aug. 9, 1936, in Frankfort, she was the daughter of William Clarence and Ruth Anna Williams Gaines. She was married in Logansport on July 9, 1983, to Raymond Nitzschke, who survives.
A 1954 graduate of Logansport High School, Mary had been employed at White-Rogers.
She attended Logansport First Assembly of God.
Mary enjoyed camping, collecting cookbooks, attending garage sales and watching the Food Network on TV. She also enjoyed the Indianapolis Colts, NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Sr. and most especially her dog, Charlie.
Surviving are three sons, John (wife, Serina) Albright, Dennis Albright and Ed (wife, Tammy) Schoonover, all of Logansport; one daughter, Talitha Baker, Delphi; one stepdaughter, Jenny (husband, Jeff) Bell, Walton; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Edna Nitzschke, Logansport; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, four brothers and two sisters.
