Mary Lou Frick, age 94, of New Smyrna Beach died Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Edgewater.
Born on January 12, 1919 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Bunn Gandy Justice and Eva Elizabeth Williams Justice, she graduated from Little Rock Central High School 1936 and attended Little Rock Junior College. She married Henry Bond Frick and in 1938 they relocated to Johnson City, Tennessee, where they opened Frick’s Music Mart in 1946, which they owned and operated together until his death in 1992. Mary Lou continued running the store until 2000. Mrs.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Barbara F. King, New Smyrna Beach, Gwendolyn K. Johnson (Clyde) Montgomery, Alabama, and Diane J. Frick, Edgewater; 8 grandchildren, Marian K. Stewart (Tom), Norman, Oklahoma, Pamela E. Johnson, Lightfoot, Virginia, Laura H. King (Charles Hagen), Overland Park, Kansas, Karen A. Draggoo (Myrl), Hudsonville, Michigan, Bradford A. King (Angela Miles), Ashland, Virginia, Jennifer L. Johnson, Edmonds, Washington, Henry M. Johnson (Gary Walker), Montgomery, Alabama, and Jason B. Isaacs, Wichita, Kansas; 10 great grandchildren, Charlie and Kate King-Hagen, Overland Park, Kansas, Miles, Gabriel, Ethan, and Anson King, Ashland, Virginia, Maggie and Morgan Stewart, Norman, Oklahoma, and Emery and Abby Draggoo, Hudsonville, Michigan; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Mrs. Frick was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
