SALEM – Mary Lou DeMar, age 90, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Mary Lou & her late husband Russ, of almost 68 years, were lifetime residents of Madeira, Ohio, until the passing of Russ, after which Mary Lou resided in Salem, Ohio, for the past year and a half. She attended Salem Bible Church. Mary Lou had assurance of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and found comfort in the word of God in her latter days.

Mary Lou had a lifelong art career, majoring in art at Miami University, working at Gibson Art, and had been a member of the Cincinnati Women’s Art Club. She was instrumental in starting Madeira’s Spring art show and exhibited in shows across the city. Mary Lou held art classes most of her adult life in various places and in her home. She held her last class a mere 9 months ago at Brookdale of Salem where she resided. Mary Lou’s passion for color, her gardens and her appreciation of beauty are showcased in her works.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Marcia (John) Wykoff; son, Douglas (Valerie) DeMar; 9 grandchildren, Tylor Rhoads, Ryan (Katie) Rhoads; Whitney Rhoads; Steven (Dorean) DeMar; April (Andy) Price, Nathan DeMar; Allison (Dan) DeHoff; Ben (Heather) DeMar, and Emily (Ray) MacDonald and 21 great grandchildren.
