Mary Lucretia (Mary Lou) Jowers Bairnsfather passed away on Sunday, Octtober 30, just a few days short of her 94th birthday. She was born in Rayville on Nov. 28, 1928 and lived in the area most of her life. 

She also fostered music education as a founding member of the Northeast Louisiana chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, a member of the American College of Musicians, and a member of the Music Guild of Monroe. She was active in civic clubs, including The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America and the Chief Tusquahoma Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. 

Her parents were Rufus Leon Jowers and Suevilla Etier Jowers, her husband was Marion Ellis Bairnsfather, and her sister was Eula Lee Pardue, all now deceased.  She is survived by four children: Susan, Paul (Shawnda), Jon (David), and Lee (Debbie), as well as by 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great grandchildren.

Lee, Susan, and Jon would like to thank our brother Paul and his wife Shawnda for the loving care they provided mom over the past few years, helping her to live at home in a place that she so cherished.
