Mary Lou Ann (Medina) Valdez departed this world on Tuesday, December 7th, at North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton, Colorado. She was 66.
Lou Ann was born in Redcliff, Colorado on September 19, 1955. Her parents were the late Ufracio and Dorothy (Martinez) Medina of Redcliff, Colorado.
On June 4th, 1977, Lou Ann married Michael Joseph Valdez in Minturn, Colorado, and together they had two children. Brenda (Arturo) Serna and Joseph Valdez.
Lou Ann graduated from Battle Mountain High School in then worked as a manager of housekeeping at Arthur G.Bishop, Lions Square Lodge and Brandess-Cadmus Real Estate. Then she worked at Walmart, followed by the Town of Minturn Library.
Lou Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Ufracio and Dorothy Medina and niece Marsha Medina.
Lou Ann is survived by her husband Michael, of Leadville; children, Brenda (Arturo) Serna of Centennial, and Joseph Valdez, of Minturn; brothers and sisters, Gloria (Ernie) Trujillo of Leadville; Jerry (Niva) Medina of Redcliff; Henry (Betty) Medina of Salida; Helen (Willie) Gallegos of Leadville; Doris (Dennis) Fresquez of Gypsum; Moises (Doris) Medina of Redcliff; and Beatrice (Charlie) Espinosa of Brighton, Colorado. Also, two grandchildren Timothy and Cayla, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
