Mary Lou Adams, age 81 of Indian Lake, died March 17, 2019, at Rose Arbor Hospice. She was born June 4, 1937, in Hopkins, the daughter of Vernon and Maxine (Marron) Weick.

Mary Lou was a 1955 graduate of Hopkins High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from Western Michigan University. Following several substitute teaching positions, she found her career at UpJohn Company working in Interlibrary Loans, where she retired in 1996.

On July 4, 1960, Mary Lou married George D. Adams. They were members of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a gifted crafter, including knitting, cross-stitching, and quilting. Mary Lou was happiest when she was surrounded by her family, especially at their home on Indian Lake. She will be remembered for her love of chocolate and her most shared advice, “you take what you get and you don’t throw a fit.” She is survived by her husband George Adams; her children: Dan (Sandy) Adams, Philip (Mary) Adams, and Mary Beth (Jim) Kelly; her grandchildren: Janae, Matt, and Joey Adams, Abby Adams (Ryan Meddaugh), Kyle, Sean, and Brendan Kelly; her brother Bill Weick; her sister Laurie Weick-Wood; her sister-in-laws Gloria Shoemaker and Barb Adams; her brother-in-law Earl Bensinger; and several nieces and nephews.
