Mary A. (Creed) Veller, 84 of Ventura, California, formerly of Centralia passed away May 14, 2015. Mary was born August 13, 1930, in Centralia, the daughter of Newton Earl Creed and Vivian Mae (Garren) Creed.
She married Lenwood “Pete” Veller, who was born on April 6, 1917, in Odin, son of Raymond Chappell and Goldie (Ross) Chappell and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2004. Mary and “Pete’ are survived by a daughter, Rebecca McIlvaine, and her husband Earl of Ventura, CA.
Mary is also survived by a sister, Maxcene Veller of Centralia; “Pete” is also survived by a sister, Helen “Rose Bud” Deadmond of Odin; three brothers: Jerry Chappell and wife Ann of Centralia, Tom Chappell and wife Kathy of Junction City, and Don Chappell of San Francisco, CA; several nieces and nephews.
They are preceded in death by their parents and a son: Phillip Veller. Mary is also preceded in death by two brothers: Herschel Creed and Dwight Creed, and three sisters: Betty Reed, Rosalie Davis, and Louise Davis. “Pete” is also preceded in death by four brothers: Wilvy Veller, Raymond Chappell, Paul, and Margaret Chappell, and Jim Chappell; six sisters: Oeta and Ben Jourdan, Laverne and Herb Wallar, Lil and Lawrence Wise, Doris and LaVern Wiedle, Eloise Alstat (Purcell) and Wallis Alstot, and Sue Ward. Mary enjoyed bowling. She enjoyed her going on trips with her sisters. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. “Pete” served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
