Mary Lee Gardner

Mary Lee Corsi Gardner, 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great
grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17,
2012 in her home.
Mary was born on Sept. 18, 1925, to loving parents, Archangelos McMeneny
Corsi and Edith Lee Corsi, in Afton. She was the fifth of 10 children.
Mary married her sweetheart, Dennis H. Gardner, on Oct. 28, 1951. Their
marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS?Temple on Dec. 5, 1963.
Together they were blessed with three children, Denise Conrad, Syracuse,
Utah; George Gardner, Afton; and Nancy (Kerry) Dixon, Farr West, Utah.
Mary lived most of her childhood in Etna, moving to Afton in 1943 and
remained in Afton where she settled with Dennis for the remainder of her
memorable life.
Mary was an active member of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW for many years.
She worked in many different jobs in her life, but her favorite job was
working at the Afton Library, where she could combine her love of reading
with her love of people.?She made lifelong friends at the library.
Mary had a unique ability to make lifelong friendships with people in a
matter of minutes, and had a true gift of making people feel welcome and
relaxed whenever she was around. She always looked for the good in people
and found it.
Mary was a strong lady who loved her family and friends dearly. She was
always taking care of everyone. There was nothing she couldn’t or wouldn’t
do to help others.
just about anything grow. She loved collecting and displaying dolls in her
home. She enjoyed reading and spent many hours enjoying a good book. She
loved all animals and had a real kinship with them.
She loved to go shopping with her friends and enjoyed her daily phone calls.
Her spirit was taken back to Heavenly Father as she was conversing with one
of these dear friends.
