Mary L. Pavelock, a life-long Beacon resident, passed away peacefully at her home on September 10, 2022; at the age of 85. She was born in Beacon on April 22, 1937, daughter of the late Dominic & Marion (McCreary) Galletta; her given name was Mary Louise, affectionately known as ‘Mary Lou’. Mary attended and graduated from St. John’s Parochial School in Beacon, where she proudly received all her sacraments at St. John’s Church. She went onto graduate from Beacon High School.
On July 16, 1960 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Beacon, she married Michael P. Pavelock, who predeceased her after 52-years of marriage on November 20, 2012.
Mary worked early on in the curtain factory Beacon Looms. She later moved onto the VA Hospital at Castle Point for over 25-years. She started work in the canteen which she thoroughly enjoyed, and later became a nursing assistant, until she retired.
Mary loved spending time with her family and friends, she especially enjoyed the time spent during her retirement at her lake house in New Hampshire and travels to Boothbay, Maine.
Mary is survived by her five loving children: Judith Pavelock and her husband Robert Huron; Michael Pavelock; Dennis Pavelock; Janice Pavelock; Robert Pavelock; her four cherished grandchildren, Pedro Rivera III, Alexis Pavelock, Natalie Pavelock, Mikaela Burch; and not to be forgotten, her beloved pet parrot ‘Kikko’. She is also survived by her brother Richard Galletta; her sister Jeanne Mansolillo, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with her husband Michael, she was predeceased by her two brothers and one sister: Robert & Joseph Galletta, and Michelle (Michael) Krawiec.
