Mary Theresa Kostrewa passed away peacefully on October 16, 2017. She was 95 years old. Mary was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Donnelly. She married Stanley Kostrewa on July 13, 1946. They were married for 51 years. After her retirement from the International Banking Division of Chemical Bank (NYC), she and her husband Stan moved to Toms River. They were residents of Silver Ridge Park Westerly. Mary was active in many organizations.
She was a long-time member and past president of the First Aid Auxiliary. Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband, brothers Joseph, Jack and Bill and son Edward. She is survived by her son Michael Kostrewa of NYC; daughter Doris and husband Hal Hassen of Illinois; and son Robert “Bobby” Kostrewa of Toms River; grandson Chris and wife Alison Hassen and great granddaughter Scarlet, all of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
