Mary Kaye Ashford Hargis, 70, of Pine Hills, Morehead, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Born September 7, 1946, in La Center at Sand Ridge, she was a daughter of the late Ursher Lee and Mary Katherine Dyer Ashford. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Wayne Ashford.
Her devoted husband of 41 years, Samuel L. Hargis, passed away October 20, 2007.
Mrs. Hargis is survived by two daughters, Susan A. (Michal) Baber of Morehead and Lesley (Michael) Slone of Oakland, Maryland; and four grandchildren, Joshua Riggsby, Zachary Riggsby, Emily Riggsby, and Matthew Slone.
Other survivors include two sisters, Beverly Poloski of La Center and Patricia Wells of Frankfort; one brother, Jimmie Lee Ashford of Lynchburg, Ohio; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Mary Kaye was a retired cashier at Wal-Mart in Morehead.
