Mary Kate Shore, 58, of Freeport, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born March 19, 1956 in Savanna she was the daughter of Lester and Margaret (Faulkner) Veme. She married Michael J. Shore June 23, 1979. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Marycrest University in Davenport, Iowa and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University.
Mary Kate worked with FHN Memorial Hospital for 13 years and for the last 15 years she has been a Nursing Instructor at Highland Community College. Her memberships include Grace Episcopal Church, Freeport, Order of Easter Star, Beloit, Wisconsin, and International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Savanna.
Surviving are her husband, Michael of Freeport; her daughter, Katie (Chad Enright) Shore of Freeport; her son, Kris (Ashly) Shore of Pine River, Wisconsin; her granddaughter, Raelynn Shore of Pine River, Wisconsin; her in-laws, Clifford and Shirley Shore of Davenport, Iowa, her aunts. Mildred Eastman of Hanover, Dorothy Lee (Lewis) Winterrowd of Lebanon, Illinois, and Katherine Nelson of St. Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents.
