Jewel Maynard Belcher, born Feb. 12, 1931, died Monday, March 25, at her daughter’s home in Destin, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Belcher; parents, Horace and Sarah Lee Maynard; and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughters, Amanda Belcher of Destin, Fla., and Donna Belcher of Lebanon, Tenn.; granddaughter, Jessica (Chris) Scurlock; and great-grandsons, Hunter and Eli Scurlock.
She was an active member of the American Cancer Society and served as President of Tennessee Board. She helped others as a trainer for Reach to Recovery as well as gave support to other surviving cancer patients.
Honorary Pall bearers are Steve Early, Toby and Tim Hanna, Cindi McGee, Betty Marler, Artie Fortner, Lynn Fortner, Michelle and Mike Buckingham, Pam McDonald and Laure Hamlin.
