CENTRALIA — Mary Jane (Roll) Wright Broeckling, 66, of Centralia, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. She was born June 23, 1947, in St. Louis, daughter of Andrew H. Roll and Mamie Meta Marie (Brinkmann) Roll. She married Richard Allan Wright in April 1972, in Collinsville, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 2002.

She married James “Jim” Broeckling in December 2011, and he survives her in Centralia. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Broeckling is survived by two step-children, Ricky Shahan and Michelle Shahan, both of Centralia; a brother, Robert Andrew Roll and wife Harriet of Capron; three nieces, Elizabeth Jane (Roll) Whitney and husband Eric of Bethel, Alaska, Rebecca Anne (Roll) Wallace and husband Kyle of Bedford, N.H., and Sarah Louise (Roll) Isaacs and husband Todd of Urbana; several great-nieces and great-nephews, Greta Rose Whitney, Payton Jacob Wallace, Elliot James Wallace, Matthew Avery Isaacs, Elenor Harriet Whitney, Amelia Ruth Isaacs and Miranda Louise Isaacs; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hetzel and Joan Wright; a brother-in-law, Roger Dean Wright and wife Anne of The Village, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.

Mrs. Broeckling was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Central City and sang in the choir. She was a dedicated caregiver for Maxine Shelton and Dorothy (Highsmith) Wright. She worked as a Medical Assistant at Debakey Heart Institute in Houston, Texas, with Dr. Pahnke for 10 years and 12 years with St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. She enjoyed spending time with her four legged friend Gus. Mrs. Broeckling loved animals, cooking, traveling and dancing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her nieces and their shopping trips.
