Mary Jane Andersen Taylor passed away November 29, 2015 in a Boise hospital due to complications from a fall in her home. She was born to Ralph and Emily C Gordon Andersen in Caldwell, Idaho on November 18, 1928. Mary Jane spent the first six years of her life with her parents and brother, Gordon, on her paternal grandparent’s farm in Wilder. At the age of 6 the family moved to Caldwell, next door to her maternal grandparents. Except for a brief time living in McCall, Idaho and Portland, Oregon she spent her life in Caldwell.
As a young woman she worked as a nursing assistant in medical offices in Caldwell. In the mid 70’s she went to work for the local Feller Trucking Company as a bookkeeper, working there until she retired at age 82.
Mary Jane was a kind friend to all animals. She devoted her time and resources to taking care of as many as she could. She would catch stray animals, feed them and attend to their medical needs. Mary Jane loved her nieces and nephews and thought of them as though they were her children too.
Mary Jane is survived by her brother Gordon Andersen of Eagle, seven nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
