Mary Jane Hildreth, 88, a resident of Toms Brook, VA passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Greenfield Reflections in Woodstock, VA.
Mary Jane was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on February 13, 1935, a daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle Carter Snyder. Prior to marriage she worked in food service. After her marriage she was a loving wife, homemaker, and mother. She had an abundant compassion for the very young and elderly. After her sons started school, she worked in various daycare centers and later did volunteer work in adult care facilities. Mary Jane graciously relocated several times with her husband’s career, always becoming involved in local church activities which included serving in the nursery. Mary was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church and was also active with the Girl Scouts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Donald, and Richard.
Survivors include her husband Wayne Hildreth, whom she married on November 16, 1957; her three sons David (Janice), Gregory, and Larry (Angela); her granddaughter Olivia along with several nieces and nephews.
