Mary Jackson Scott, a native of the Gainestown community and resident of Mobile, made her earthly transition on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Twin Oaks Nursing in Mobile. She was born on May 10, 1933 to Lewis Mack and Agree Jackson. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Gainestown. Mary enjoyed crocheting, ironing and gardening before declining health.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Dan Scott Sr.; daughter, Bettye J. Scott; siblings, David Jackson, Margarett Gwin, Pearl Jackson, Francis Foxx, Inell Jackson, Bertha Whittaker and Irene Williams.
She is survived by her three daughters, Olivia (Cornelius)Williams, Rosie Scott and Aree (Michael) Kirksey, all of Mobile; six sons, Dan (Laura) Scott of Choctaw Bluff, Tommie (Celestine) Scott of Zimco, Clifton (Jeanette) Scott and Alfred Scott, both of Mobile, Min. Arthur (Ida) Scott of Thomasville and David Scott of Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Carrie Moore of Walker Springs and Rosie Lee Washington of Prichard; one brother, James Jackson of Muskegon, Mich.; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
